ALL-STAR / SUMMER BASEBALL SEASON
Bow Ridge is pleased to offer summer baseball options for all interested players. We encourage ALL eligible* players to consider trying out for one of our All-Star or Summer Ball teams. Registration will be opened up and communicated in early May.
*Important for AAA All-Star Teams
To be eligible for any AAA All-Star team, including Minors, Majors, Interimediate, Junior and Senior, all players MUST have played a minimum of 8 regular season (spring) games for as a registered Bow Ridge player. Bow Ridge does have the option to combine with other District 3 Associations for form a AAA team in order to field the most competitive team available. Preference will first and foremost be given to Bow Ridge players that have given their time and commitment. Please also note that in order to be eligible for selection to a AAA All-Sar team, all players must attend the mandatory All-Star tryout. There will be no exceptions. Full commitment is expected.
To be eligible for an A or AA Summer Ball team, preference will first be given to Bow Ridge players that played the spring season AND attended the mandatory Summer Ball tryout. From time to time, Bow Ridge may need to seek players from other Associations in order to field a complete roster. It is not a requirement to have played the spring season with Bow Ridge, though as noted, preference will first be given to Bow Ridge players that played in the spring. All efforts will be made to accommodate every player that wants to play on an A or AA team.
MINOR & MAJOR ALL-STARS
Will participate in weekend tournaments and attend the Little League Alberta Divisional Championship tournament. There is also an opportunity for the All-Star team to make it to the Little League Canadian Championship.
AAA All-Star players are expected to commit to 5-6 days a week including practices and Friday to Sunday weekend tournaments starting last weekend in June. Some travel is expected for out of town tournaments.
Any player may try out for any All-Star team for which they are eligible to play based on their age and residence eligibility requirements. For All-Star team selection, you must have played on a league team during the regular season, live or attend school within the Bow Ridge boundaries and be of legal age for your division.

Minor - Any players Little League Age 9 - 10 years
Majors - Any players Little League Age 11 - 12 years
SUMMER BASEBALL - A & AA TEAMS
BRLL and District 3 offer the opportunity to form Summer Ball teams that will compete in Alberta Little League weekend tournaments in June and July. All BRLL Summer Ball teams have the opportunity to attend a Little League Alberta Championships normally held during the August long weekend to end the Summer Baseball season.
Summer Ball players are expected to commit to 3-5 days a week including practices and Friday to Sunday weekend tournaments starting last weekend in June. Some travel is expected for out of town tournaments.
Age Groups Available:
Minors - Any players Little League Age 8 - 10 years
Majors - Any players Little League Age 11 - 12 years
Teenage - Any players Little League Age 13 - 16 years
COMMUNICATION AND TIMING
A notice will be issued by the League regarding the tryout dates, times, and locations for All-Star teams in each division. All-Star teams will be selected on or after the date specified by Little League International each year.
The All-Star/Summer Ball programs will be assessed additional fees.
MANAGERS AND COACHES
Managers of the All-Star/Summer Ball teams are selected by the BRLL Board of Directors' Executive. Written applications by interested Managers are submitted to the Board. The appointed Managers will be responsible for the All-Star/Summer Ball player selections for their respective teams. The Manager will also select their assistant coaches, which will be approved by the BRLL Board.
SELECTION PROCESS
Selection criteria: eligibility, availability, ability, skills, desire, the specific team needs as well as a player’s behavior throughout the entire baseball season and its consistency with the Players Code of Conduct including a positive attitude, sportsmanship, teamwork, and regular participation. The players are expected to make a commitment to attend all practices and games through the entire All-Star season. Declaration of any availability issues should be made on the tryout signup.
DATES OF TOURNAMENTS
Summer Ball teams must commit to two of the three weekends for the seeding tournaments and two of the three weekends for the regular-season tournaments.
Championship Weekend is usually the August long weekend except for AAA Majors which is usually the third week of July and is over the course of one week.
