Safety Protocols short list

The safety of members and parents remains our number one priority. We have created a formalized safety plan and introduced enhanced measures for this season to deal with the risks associated with COVID and to ensure we are compliant with Alberta Health & Safety Guidance and regulations. All training will be at a social distance wherever possible.  Below is a quick list of things safety protocols for the full list please see BRLL Safety plan.
 
  • Social distancing MUST be maintained at all times by parents, spectators, and umpires.
  • Social distancing MUST be maintained at all times by participants (coaches/players) with the exception of gameplay where a particular aspect of the game does not allow for it. (eg. tagging).
  • All participants will adhere to Alberta Health orders of:
    - Practice physical distancing
- Practice good hygiene: wash hands often for at least 20 seconds, cover coughs and sneezes, and avoid touching the face
- Stay Home when you are feeling sick.
- Monitor for symptoms: cough, fever, shortness of breath, runny nose or sore throat
- Self-isolate if you have any symptoms
- The Safety Officer will be your contact at safety@bowridgebaseball.com if you test positive to Covid.
  • All participants, including umpires and coaches, have asked themselves the Fit for Due Covid check list, before each event
  • Attendance will be recorded at all events, including all players, coaches, and spectators.
  • Use of dugouts will be prohibited. Players will hang up ball bags along the foul fence 6 feet apart.
  • Sharing of personal equipment is prohibited. (eg. Players must have their own gloves &, batting helmet). Bats can be shared if properly sanitized between uses
  • Hand Sanitizer will be supplied to each team and all players will be required to sanitize their hands every half inning and between drills.
  • No food will be brought to the diamond, only water bottles will be allowed
  • Players must wear clean clothes for each session.
  • All teams will appoint a volunteer bench spotter when coaches are on the field.  Other spotters may be required during games and practices.
  • Any ball leaving the field of play must be sanitized before it can be returned to the field.
  • No loitering before or after the game or training session. You must come on time and leave on time.   Do not conjugate in the diamond area until the previous event participants have vacated.
  • If an injury occurs, the adult must have PPE on to attend to the player, PPE can be found in the First Aid Kits.  
  • Injury report to be filed with the Safety Office when the injury could have been avoided or if it involves equipment.
  • No handshaking, fist pumps etc.   (We encourage hat tipping and applauding)
  • Masks may be worn but are not recommended by Alberta Health for individuals participating in athletic activity.
  • There will be zero tolerance for anyone not following any of the rules and protocols.  Breaking of these rules may result in the shutting down of the entire mini league.
