Response Needed - Spring Season Cancelled

Dear Bow Ridge Baseball members:

Due to COVID-19 and the orders put in by the Health Minister, Little League, and the City of Calgary, Bow Ridge Little League will unfortunately not be able to host a spring baseball season for 2020.   As a result of this decision, we are offering a refund to our members. 

Currently, all city diamonds have been closed until June 30^th and we are considering having a Summer season through July and August if the restrictions are lifted.  Due to time constraints, there will be insufficient time to set up another registration, therefore, if you wish to participate in a Summer season you will need to have your registration kept and applied to this new season verse taking a refund now. 

Once we determine the structure of the new season, if it does not fit your needs, you will have the opportunity to withdraw for a refund without penalty.  In late May we will make a determination on the viability of a summer season and should we not be able to proceed, refunds will be issued to all who are still registered. More information on this new season will be forwarded as we know more. 

Prior to the cancellation of the season, the league had incurred costs in excess of $50,000.  Some of these costs are for items that can be carried forward and used next year, however, approx. $16,000 were related to expenses that have no carry-forward value such as insurance, advertising, registration fees, evaluations, etc. These expenses amount to approximately $40 per player and will be a direct loss to our association in 2020.

For those not wanting to participate in a summer season, and wanting to be refunded their player registration now, we are asking that you consider donating a portion or all of your fees to Bow Ridge to help offset unrecoverable costs incurred to date.

Please note that the refunds will be processed by our volunteers and will take some time to process so be patient as we work through this.  To expedite the process, we ask that all refund requests be submitted by May 1^st.
