Minimum Coaching Requirements
The Board mandated minimum coaching requirements for all of our coaches for the 2017 season:
Coach Pitch Machine & Machine Pitch: Attend a Teaching For Tommorrow Clinic
Minor, Junior (Tier 2), Intermediate: NCCP Initiation Coach - Online Module
Major, Tier 1 Junior, All All-Star levels: NCCP Intiation Coach Trained (On-line & In-House)
Coach Development Opportunities
To ensure our coaches are effective and authentic, Bow Ridge Little League supports the on-going development and training of our coaches and assistant coaches. Training is delivered thru the hosting of in-house and regional coaching clinics as well as the reimbursement of costs for all active coaches related to the registration and successful completion of coaching clinics through the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP).
For 2017, the following coaching opportunities are available to ALL active BRLL coaches:
Teaching for Tomorrow Coach Clinics
The Teaching for Tomorrow Education Program is the Little Baseball Canada brand for our innovative instruction sessions for managers and coaches. All necessary skills and drills will be included in the structure of the clinic along with reinforcing many of the life skills necessary for these players. Components of the program include safety, fun, and teaching players to love the game.
These clinics are recommended for all managers, coaches & parents. There is no charge and no pre-registration required. Please bring a ball glove, athletic wear and runners.

National Coaching Certificate Program (NCCP)
NCCP Coaching Coach Initiation
The National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) is a coach training and certification program for all coaches in more than 60 sports. The Initiation Coach is the first level of the Baseball Canada Coach program and is designed to provide valuable and accessible resources and training to coaches who are introducing and continuing to work with children in community level baseball programs.
Baseball Canada's On-line Module - a complete resource to help get you started and a place to revisit often while you coach children's baseball. This module is approximately 90 minutes to 2 hours to complete and can be completed over multiple sittings. In addition to having continual access to online video drills, materials, practice plans and skill development tools you will also receive a NCCP coaching card that indicates your status in the program.
The on-line module is free for Active Bow Ridge Little League coaches and assistant coaches. Please contact contact Dave Smith at coachdevelopment@bowridgebaseball.com to obtain a pre-paid access codes.
Baseball Canada's In-house Clinic - The in-house clinic is hosted bi-annually. It is not being offered by BRLL this year but will be hosted in April 2018. As this is a requirement for All-star coaches, if you are considering applying to coach All-stars this season but have not completed this clinic, please contact Dave Smith at coachdevelopment@bowridgebaseball prioras there are options available in April.
