Bowridge Update: Minors and Nationals/Majors Divisions
Dear Parents, Players, and Coaches;
The Bow Ridge Little League Baseball Board Executive has been working hard over the past several months to continue to develop our programs so that player and coach development remain our top priority at all levels of play. These priorities, along with factors such as player enrolment, diamond availability and cost, travel, and Little League guidelines have allowed us to make some changes to the Minors and Majors divisions that we feel will benefit all players.
This year, with the support and encouragement of Little League District 3, we will be merging the Nationals and Minor’s Programs into one division of 9-12 year olds, while maintaining our Majors Program for 11 and 12 year olds. Evaluations will continue for all groups as per the previous system, whereby all 11 and 12 year old players interested in playing at the Major’s level will be evaluated and drafted onto one of the three Major’s teams. The remaining players will enter the newly formed division. All 9-10 year old players will also be evaluated and teams will be assigned based upon an even distribution of all 9-12 year olds. The formation of this larger division will allow for all teams to play within an internal league and eliminate the need to drive across the district to play games, as all games and practices will take place at Bow Ridge diamonds.
Bow Ridge Little League Baseball and Little League District 3 believe that this new arrangement will allow players greater opportunity to fully develop their skills, reduce the burden of travel across the district, and improve the level of play across the division. It will also allow top level players the opportunity to prepare for the All Star Season.
Respectfully,
Ryan Clements
President
